I started my career in Technical Art before it was defined as a role where I was on the bleeding edge of using Maya to develop assets for games. I published the first character setup tutorial for Maya on the web way back in 2000. I made the transition to Game Design while working on Lord of the Rings Online as Art Director, and stayed in design focusing on moment to moment gameplay in combat as well as advancement systems.
My most successful project is MTG: Arena. Where I became the Game Director a year into my time on the project to save it from being shut down. I didn't save it alone, I used my leadership to coordinate and rebuild the team across all disciplines and empower those under me to excel. I’m more proud of the people I empowered than my own contributions.
My most recent campaign has been at Immutable where I took over as Game Director of Gods Unchained three years ago after moving half-way around the world with my family to Sydney. Playing a key role in growing Immutable from a 15 person startup to a 300 person Unicorn.
