As Screen Australia’s first Head of Online, Lee oversees production funding for emerging Australian scripted and documentary creators working online, supporting projects such as Sarah’s Channel, Content, All My Friends Are Racist, Over and Out, Aunty Donna’s Glennridge Secondary College, At Home Alone Together and many more. Lee also looks after initiative like Skip Ahead with YouTube, and established the partnerships Digital Originals with SBS/NITV and Every Voice with TikTok and NZ on Air. Lee is also responsible for Screen Australia’s Games: Expansion Pack funding, which launched in early 2022 to considerable positive press.
Before joining Screen Australia, Lee was best known as guitarist in musical comedy trio The Axis of Awesome, who have over 150 million views online and have multiple tours of the US, UK, Australia and Germany, as well as a one hour special in Sweden. They have released 7 full length albums and have an army of fans worldwide, which has something to do with their viral hit The Four Chords Song. Lee also wrote on Whose Line Is It Anyway? Australia and co-created Insert Coin, an online sketch comedy series about gaming with over 2 million views.
